Playfish really wants you to like The Sims Social. That sounds like a statement to be filed under "Obvious", but it seems as if sometimes players forget this simple fact with not just this game, but all social games. And EA's social game maker wants to make it crystal through a new series of The Sims Social focus groups and feedback sessions scheduled for throughout 2012.

The developer recently called out for participants on The Sims Social forums for such sessions, promising all chosen participants a sweet Amazon gift card (of undetermined value, but hey: free!). Reserved for U.S.-based The Sims Social players "for logistical reasons," those interested will have to take a short survey to qualify being chosen. However, the survey is only available through Jan. 22, so act fast if you want a chance at a freebie.

According to Playfish community manager Bevypoo, Playfish will be conducting feedback sessions and focus groups with the chosen applicants on "new and existing games & features." Playfish has done lots in recent weeks in attempts to connect with The Sims Social's player base, which has been in steady decline for months, according to AppData. You can imagine the goal of events like these is to help Playfish grasp what must be done to bring back its lost players. Did anyone just hear engines roaring?

Do you plan on signing up for these The Sims Social feedback sessions? Do you think the game has a chance at winning the hearts of those lost players again? Sound off in the comments. Add Comment.
