What's next, a promotion with Perdue? (You know, the whole semi-flightless bird thing? Never mind.) Rovio and MTV have announced a partnership in which players that support the network's anti-digital abuse campaign, "A Thin Line," will score access to a Golden Egg level in the upcoming Angry Birds Space, Mashable reports. However, it will take a bit of digging.Starting March 22, when fans of hating cyber bullies post a positive action through MTV's Draw Your Line--a web app to go with the network's social campaign--they'll earn a hint for how to access the secret level in Angry Birds Space. (Positive actions include anything from changing passwords to intervening in cyber bullying as it happens.) The promotion will run through April, and will be advertised in Rovio's several versions of Angry Birds through banner and video ads.
MTV will promote the partnership with an Angry Birds-themed public service announcement set to air on various U.S, foreign and digital MTV properties. "We know how big the game has become and the ways people are engaging with it," MTV VP of public affairs Jason Rzepka told Mashable. "We saw this as a place we could really connect with young people."
According to Mashable, MTV's "A Thin Line" has attracted 1 million youngsters to date. Not a bad thing to get behind, if you ask us. And more space pigs to pummel makes it that much sweeter.
