ChefVille Halloween Ball Quests: Everything you need to know

After a rocky 24 hours, Zynga has finally started resuming the rollout of ChefVille's Halloween quests to players. The quests were put on hold for everyone but a lucky few due to bugs, but the new themed cooking appliances, like the Haunted Broiler, have been available the entire time. Needless to say, this was a cause of anger for some and confusion for many others, but we're happy to say that we can now start guiding you through completing these first Halloween quests, which will be available for the next 15 days. Let's get started!

The Haunted Broiler
  • Get 4 Pumpkin Spice
  • Place the Haunted Broiler
  • Cook 3 Monster Pumpkin Soup

The Haunted Broiler costs 1,200 coins to purchase in the store, and requires building materials to complete. You'll need 16 items in all, which can be earned through a combination of general news posts and individual requests sent to friends. As for the Pumpkin Spice required for this first quest, you can earn all four by posting a general request on your news feed asking your neighbors for help. If you're tired of waiting for your friends to help you, you can also help them by clicking on their own posts. It's a win-win for you both!

Finally, the Monster Pumpkin Soup is the first dish available to cook in the Halloween Cauldron, which costs 1,500 coins in the store. It requires one Pumpkin, two Onions and two Mushrooms to cook. It only takes two minutes to prepare from beginning to end, and by the time you've cooked the dish three times, you'll have earned the first two Spooky Halloween Ribbons of mastery. When you complete this overall quest, you'll receive five XP and 35 coins, and will also unlock the Pumpkin Ravioli dish that can be cooked inside the Halloween Cauldron.

Ghostly Accoutrements
  • Buy 6 Halloween Decorations
  • Cook 6 Spooky Spaghetti
  • Tend 10 Wild Pumpkins

Unfortunately, if you already purchased Halloween decorations while waiting for these quests to arrive, they won't count for this quest and you'll need to purchase six more. You can choose from items both large and small, but if you're looking to complete this quest without wasting a lot of coins, your best bet is to purchase any of the Halloween Striped Wall pieces, as they count as decoration and cost just 20 coins each.

When it comes to the Spooky Spaghetti, this is a dish that can be cooked in the Halloween Cauldron using two Sirloin Beef, one Dough and one Mozzarella Cheese. It takes just three minutes to prepare, and you'll earn even more Spooky Halloween Ribbons for cooking the full six required for this quest. Hopefully, the time it takes you to cook these Spooky Spaghetti will be enough for some Wild Pumpkins to grow on your land, which will grow at random just like Mushrooms and Onions. Since that probably still won't happen for some time though, you can feel free to visit Madeline for five Pumpkins to tend, and can visit other friends in the hopes that they've got some as well.

When you finish this quest, you'll have officially started the Halloween Ball quest series, as the first quest served as more of an introduction to the Haunted Broiler and Halloween Cauldron. You'll unlock three new things when completing this quest: the Pumpkin Bread Pudding dish within the Haunted Broiler, the Halloween Scarecrow which can be purchased in the store for 10,000 coins, and a skeleton avatar top.

The New Ghoul
  • Get 10 Invitations to the Costume Ball!
  • Visit 10 Neighbors
  • Earn 8 Spooky Halloween Ribbons

The Invitations to the Costume Ball are earned by sending out individual requests to your neighbors for help. If you've already asked your neighbors for items like Pumpkin ingredients, you might be forced to wait up to 24 hours before you can send out more requests. Since this is already the second quests in this Halloween Ball series, and there are still 15 days left to complete all four, it's not time to panic about sending out those requests just yet. Just make sure that you check on your request status every few hours to see if you're once again available to ask friends for help.

When it comes to the other two tasks in this series, the Spooky Halloween Ribbons are most easily earned by cooking items like the Spooky Spaghetti above, or the Creepy Crepes in the Haunted Broiler, as they don't require Pumpkin Puree to cook (which is obviously a rather rare ingredient in this early stage of the Halloween event).

This ongoing quest series will continue to grow in the future, as we learn all of the ins and outs of these quests and how to finish them off fast. For now, make sure you start cooking as many spooky dishes as possible to get ahead of the game, and stay tuned for more!
