According to AllThingsD, Ginzburg has not yet started work with Zynga, but her LinkedIn page as already been update with the new position. This news follows the departure of COO John Schappert, however it's unclear whether Ginzburg will take his former responsibilities as well.
This is a key hire for Zynga, especially considering its ambitions to be a leader in the online gambling scene starting as early as next year. As AllThingsD points out, this is also an important sign that, amid its unfortunate reshuffling, Zynga can still recruit top-level talent. It's unclear exactly what Ginzburg's role will be even as COO of new markets, but you can bet it has something to do with this whole gambling craze. We've reached out to Zynga for comment.
