Sonja's former shipmate has made a spontaneous appearance in our CastleVille Kingdoms, bringing tales of treasure in a far off place known as Land's End. There are 12 quests to complete in a new "Tale of Two Pirates" feature, and this one is definitely special. Instead of being stuck in our own Kingdoms, we'll actually travel to Land's End ourselves to have some fun in the tropics.
To Land's End
- Visit Land's End
- Investigate Shipwreck
Land's End can be accessed by clicking on Jacque's picture in your friends bar at the bottom of the gameplay area. You'll receive 1,000 coins, 20 XP and a Creamy Clam Chowder for completing this first quest.
Distiller
- Use Jacques' Energy Distiller
- Search Tidal Pools 1 Time
- Search 3 Tropical Flowers
As you'll quickly learn, Land's End is a "kingdom" in and of itself, with tasks to complete and items to investigate or otherwise interact with. You'll need to use the Creamy Clam Chowder within the Energy Distiller to actually "brew" up some energy, and you'll receive five energy bolts for doing just that. This is a special kind of energy called "Island Energy," that is separate from what you'll have back in your home Kingdom. You'll receive 1,000 coins, 20 XP and a Tidal Pool for completing this quest.
What, the Hull?
- Have 3 Pirate Food
- Craft 3 Hammers
- Repair the Hull of the Santa Lucia Shipwreck
You'll need to head back home to craft the Hammers, while the Pirate Food is earned by posting a general news item to your wall. The Hull of the Santa Lucia requires 10 Wood Logs, 10 Ogre's Belch and five Dubloons to fix. All three of these can be earned by asking your friends to send them to you, but of course, you can also earn the Wood Logs and Ogre's Belch on your own. You'll receive 1,500 coins, 30 XP and a set of Female and Male Pirate Pants for finishing this quest.
Lightning Storm
- Collect from Coffee Plants 5 times
- Tend 5 Flowers
- Harvest 10 Carrots
Rewards: 1,000 coins, 20 XP, 3 Coffee Beans
Hammer Time
- Have 9 Lightning Hammers
- Destroy 6 Lightning Hubs in Land's End
- Shut down the Lightning Totem on Land's End
The Lightning Hammers are crated in your Workshops using Coffee Beans, Beeswax, Jellyfish and Pearls. You'll earn just 1,000 coins and 20 XP for finishing this time-consuming quest.
Go Figurehead
- Repair the Santa Lucia Figurehead
- Harvest 10 Coffee Beans
- Craft 1 Creamy Clam Chowder
The Figurehead requires one Figurehead, 12 Salvaged Wood, eight Wood Planks and two Cotton Cloth to actually repair. You'll earn 1,500 coins and 30 XP for finishing this one.
Going Coconuts
- Chop 7 Palm Trees on Land's End
- Craft 1 Iron Axe
- Have 6 Salvaged Metal
Salvaged Metal drops at random when tending to items on Land's End, whether they be flowers or otherwise. You'll earn two different kinds of Palm Trees, 1,000 coins and 20 XP for completing this quest.
Water Storm
- Have 11 Water Chalices
- Shut down the Water Totem
- Have 6 Eye Patches
Eye Patches are earned via a general news item on your wall, while the Water Chalices need to be crafted back in your Home Kingdom. You'll receive 1,750 coins, 35 XP and a pair of Male and Female Pirate Coats for finishing this quest.
Master and Commander
- Repair the Santa Lucia Mast
- Craft 1 Glue
- Craft Fresh Coconut Sherbet
The Mast of the Santa Lucia requires quite a few building materials to repair: a Ship's Mast, five Steering Wheels, 18 Salvaged Wood and 18 Salvaged Metal pieces. You'll earn 1,500 coins and 30 XP for finishing this quest.
Swordplay
- Band 2 Gloom Crocs guarding the Wind Totem
- Search Tidal Pools 3 Times
- Tend 3 Goats on Land's End
Rewards: 1,000 coins, 20 XP, 2Adult Goats
Wind Storm
- Have 11 Wind Horns
- Shut down the Wind Totem
- Have 6 Salvaged Metal
The Wind Horns are crafted in the Studio in your Home Kingdom, and you'll receive 1,750 coins, 35 XP and a Male and Female version of the Pirate Hat for your avatar for completing this particular quest.
Ship-Shape
- Finish Repairing the Santa Lucia
- Push the Santa Lucia off the Beach
Rewards: 1,000 coins and 20 XP
While this entire Land's End quest series isn't timed, that doesn't mean this Land's End area is a permanent addition to the game. Unfortunately, it will vanish five days after you receive the "Thar Be Treasure" quest line, which appears after you finish these quests.
Interestingly, the Land's End FAQ on the game's official forums speaks of multiple areas outside of our own Kingdom that we can "own," so it looks like this won't be the only time we take a journey to a far off land to finish quests. We'll stay on top of things and will let you know if and when other side-areas unlock in CastleVille, so stay tuned!
