At the beginning of May, we discovered a little iPhone app by the name of Song Pop, a multiplayer music game in the same vein as Draw Something, allowing you to challenge friends and strangers alike to be the fastest to correctly identify the song names or artists associated with short music clips in a variety of musical genres. The game had only soft-launched then, but has launched in full now, even being available on Facebook.The Facebook app plays just as the iPhone and Android apps do, and includes a genre mastery feature. The more songs you correctly guess across the game's categories (80's, 90's, Today's Hits, One Hit Wonders, etc.), the more songs you'll be able to identify at random in those same categories, reducing the amount of duplications you'll hear over time.
With cross-platform play, a game started on iPhone or Android can be continued on Facebook and vice versa, allowing even those without Android or iOS devices to get in on the fun. It looks like the game can only continue to grow in the future, with additional songs or musical genres, so make sure to try out the new Facebook version for yourself if you've yet to experience this musical competition.
