Well, that was fast. Pocket Gamer reports that the original Rock Band game for iPhone and iPad will remain playable, that the game will not shut down come May 31. As of yesterday, it seemed as if publisher EA looked to make it so the game was 100 percent unplayable to focus resources on its (relatively) new-and-improved Rock Band Reloaded for iOS devices."Rock Band for iOS will remain live - the in-app message users received yesterday was sent in error," EA told Pocket Gamer. "We apologize for the confusion this caused. We're working to clarify the issue that caused the error and will share additional information as soon as possible."
So, was it that the message was sent at all a mistake or was the error that EA looked to shut down Rock Band for iOS in the first place? That's something only the veteran publisher knows at this point. Regardless, surely EA has made legions of Rock Band fans much happier today. Now, adding this song would be a fool-proof way of patching things up.
