Race against the clock for the best score possible in 2Fuse on iOS

While match-three games are nothing new, what if we took one step backwards and matched just two like symbols, rather than requiring all three? That's the concept behind Mojo Forest's 2Fuse on iPhone and iPad, a (free) game with a deceptively simple nature that makes it all the more addictive.

The gameplay setup here asks little more of you than to tap on two like symbols on a grid of 16. These boxes come in three colors: green, red and blue, with each having either a number or star atop it. You must match boxes of the same color and symbol (two Blue 1's, for instance), which will destroy them from the screen and start a combo boost. The more matches you make in a short period of time, the higher your score climbs.

You'll have a minute to earn the best score possible in each game, with these special star boxes activating power-ups, like one that slows down time, another that increases your score multiplier and so on. At the end of each game, you can head into the shop and purchase passive or active abilities with the Volts that you've acquired simply by playing (you can also purchase extra Volts with real world cash). Two of these passive abilities include a permanent boost to your score in each game and an increase in the duration of power-ups when activated, while active abilities might freeze time for 10 seconds in a single game, but can only be used once (as an example).

You'll be able to compare your scores with those of friends via the game's Facebook integration, and can also compare your scores to worldwide players if you happen to be the only one in your circle of friends that's tried this out.

Don't let 2Fuse's simple nature fool you; there's some truly hectic gameplay here as you race against the clock for the greatest score possible, and it's definitely a great way to pass some time.
